.... and if you only need to balance the throttle bodies it's a really quick thing to do yourself with a carbtune (or pair of vacuum gauges) and a screwdriver.

It was serviced about 900miles ago.

Will have to ride more and try a few more tanks, see what i'm getting.

On a long run (200miles) i got 35mpg, which was poor, but i did give it some at times.

I need to check the air box at some point. The ECU wire has been cut, but the intake restrictor could still be there for all i know.

I'd check the filter earlier rather than later.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

tbh, most mainstream services do not bother doing the set up and balance - they just change the oil and plugs etc....

35mpg is about what i get in mini hoon mode

i have got 50mpg before now - but i was riding very sensibly as my rear tyre was well shagged........

don't forget though that I am using 54mm throttle bodies etc... so i will always be less economical than standard

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I do notice a big difference in mpg when I swap over to a clean air filter. So first thing to check/replace is the air filter.

I did 200 miles yesterday and only used 20 litres of petrol, about 46 mpg. Most of that was above near the speed limits (depends on definition of near, really). It was roughly nearly somewhat close anway..... :smt003

Check the syncronisation of the throttle bodies. the front likes to be a little stronger than the rear, think mine is aout 2.25 turns out and 1.5 turns out on the rear. Might be worth pulling to plugs out to see how rich you are running.

Oh, and out of the 75 miles, how many cold starts are you doing? frequent cold starts will greatly reduce fuel efficiency, quite severly on the falco. I have gotten 80ish miles if i have done lots of small journeys.
