No. I asked my brother if he had ever changed the shock and he said no. It may have been changed by the previous owner? Here's a shot I took at Xmas, can you tell whether it is original from this:Dalemac wrote:Are my eyes deceiving me?
Im sure that is a purple shock in all those pics. My shock is purple and it is a maxton.
Are you absolutely sure its the original?
Dale
P.S also, one pic shows a standard screen, another shows a double bubble dark screen...

As to the screen, those pics were taken by my brother so he must have changed the screen. Here's another shot as it is now:

This is going in BikeTrader for 2,750.
.
When you put it in .mention You have the solo seat and hump.try and find out about the shock .if its a Maxton it adds £150-200 to what your get .
Personal choice re the screen .if you have both then even better.

That looks very much like someone has either had the blue spring powder coated or (more likely) replaced the standard blue spring for a Hyperpro progressive spring. That purple colour is their trademark and is subtly different to the colour Maxton use. The rest of the shock looks standard OE Sachs.
If you can manage to get a close up of the shock/spring that would help a lot in identification. If (as appears likely) that is a Hyperpro spring, you might also have a set of Hyperpro fork springs installed. I've always been very impressed with Hyperpro stuff, particularly the fork springs.

Hyperpro list fork and shock springs and a combined kit for the Falco.

Agreed - as best as you can see from the pic, the shock body looks as though it could be a standard sachs.mangocrazy wrote:That looks very much like someone has either had the blue spring powder coated or (more likely) replaced the standard blue spring for a Hyperpro progressive spring. Thanks, I reckon 2750 is the right price to advertise. I'm not desperate to sell. Autotrader dealer prices are 3250 - 3500 for the same year/condition.nteck uk wrote:When you put it in .mention You have the solo seat and hump.try and find out about the shock .if its a Maxton it adds £150-200 to what your get .
