Don't know why but I would have expected john to have that tale

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Changed a Hydrema digger engine at -35 degrees c
Lit fires under a Aveling Barford Grader at -40 degrees c to de-ice the de-icer in the brake system..
As far as biking goes it'd be my bike test at -4 in a bleak German winter. Very cold but didn't suffer due to the amount of adrenaline pumping!! black ice and sleet tend to focus the mind to the job in hand. Passed no minors but seem to recall I couldnt drive home straight away afterwards as I couldnt stop shivering.

true tim
but the a 4 inch layer of snow would classify as a snow drift for you
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

If we're talking about not while riding, for me that would be at that same rally I was on my way to - woke up at 3am absolutely freezing! I thought I'd make a hot drink to warm me up - but the water container was outside the next tent, and I wasn't going to open the tent and go outside! So I heated up some of that banana flavoured milk - yes it was disgusting, but it did warm me up. Then I thought I'd eat somechocolate and that was so cold and hard I chipped a tooth trying to bite it!
I put on every stitch of clothing I had and returned to my sleeping bag and did get another couple of hours - next day I confessed how cold I'd been and discovered that half the folks had retreated to the village hall and slept on and under the tables!
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

About 12 years ago, Westbury, Wilts., the wind chill cracked the oil filter mounting on the ally block on my Perkins V8 lorry, sounded like some one snapping a branch over thier knee !
Ttried to start my mates lorry with 6 new glow plugs & new battery, only suceeded after lighting a firelighter held in tongs and spraying WD40 over the flame into the air intake ( hot ragging )
Remember it rising to a high of minus 4 in daytime, doors freezing shut and dog going skating on the ice every time she went out. A cold 4/5 weeks
Cleverly disguised as an adult !
