Laughed at that :smt003

My mate's mate has an MV 750 and didnt have it long before he dropped it off the stand and had to pay £150! for the clutch lever

Decided he didnt want to risk anything else expensive so replaced the bodywork with carbon (£4000 including new exhaust )
cos it was cheaper than standard oem stuff. Funny thing is he still cant ride for toffee :smt005 Save yourself a fortune and get a tuono, or even better do a Hansie

We'll Rich you've been and gone and done it eh. Stick around and let us know what ends up in your garage. GIO - enjoy the new ride and keep it shiny side up.

MV???

#21 Post by Nooj » Fri Mar 30, 2007 6:01 pm

I tried the 910 Brutale and thought it was pants, crap fueling, harsh ride and cheap and buzzy feeling. OK, the fueling and susspension could be sorted with a PCIII and a spanner, but it still really wasn't very nice. The missus tried the 750 however and loved every second of it....then bought a Tuono as it was even better.

I've got a 2hr test ride on the new Tuono booked for tomorrow (the bike has already had a re-map and a pair of Akra's fitted) :smt003

The dealer is local, I like him, he's offered me a great deal (even better If I took a red one, which I won't) and a subsidised 1st service.....along with the obligitory Akrapovics to be fitted of course

So if the test ride is OK, it'll be a Tuono for sure. :smt016

The one thing MV's are good for is a small heart attack when you ring for insurance. The falco was £150 a year fully comp, the MV was £695!!!!
I did manage to get it down a bit, but that along with the cost of parts etc...put me off without even getting a test ride done. But a dealer in Reading has a Brutale 750 going for £7,299 and that is cheap

How much is he offering off the red Tuono?

Have you had a ride on the Ducati Multistrada?

Oh come on its not bad. I rather liked it, but it didn't have the leg room of the BM I had.

(Now of course I've got even less) :smt005

It's probably a great bike to ride, but you wouldn't stand back and admire it. :smt009

I've never heard a bike described as lacking leg room, but with legs like mine I'm more interested in whether my toes will reach the tarmac! :smt005 :smt005

Well to give you some idea, I'm 6'5" and my legs are 36".

I've yet to buy a bike on looks, this bike now and my blackbird are the only nice looking bikes I've had, the rest are to put it mildly "ugly ducklings", however its whether the bike does what you want or not.

I bet that'll be Pegasus then?! - I've seen that they've added MVs these days - were just Kawasakis and various second-hand trade-ins when I knew them.

Bought a Honda CB250G5 from them when my CB175 was nicked ..... but that would be about 30 years ago - so any comment on how good a dealership they are is probably not so relevent anymore ........
