ok I managed to find out some more though I am not sure whether it is any clearer for that :smt017

Oh and I do appreciate all the help BTW :smt007

Was in the original ad that the guy I bought it off bought it from if you catch my drift lol

I purchased this ohlins shock from the owner of a 2002 RSV mille factory R to fit to my 2004 Tuono, of which both bikes share the same frame and suspension set-up. I have since sold the tuono so i removed the shock and re-fitted the original one. The distance between the mounting holes is 320mm. I believe the ohlins shock was made to fit models: Aprilia RSV mille years 1999-2003, also Aprilia RSV mille tuono years 2002-2005."

I also found this from an old post on some site

02 side plates and dog bone.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/m ... G_2088.jpg

distance between centers 130mm
material thickness 10mm
width 36mm

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/m ... G_2086.jpg
Distance between hole centers as in the photo:
left to top 75mm,right to top 85mm,left to right 60mm
plate thickness 6mm

Width at the thinest point.
left 12mm
right 20mm
bottom 21mm

Not sure that helps or is accurate but at least wanted to show willing in making some effort to find the answer ;)[/img]
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

i think that has the answer you need - you need the ohlins triangle and dogbone from a 2001 to 2003 OHLINS mille

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

...... which I thought we'd answered many many times on this forum too .....

.... and the mille also has triangles (of the same shape) but different thicknesses. 4mm thick in Steel and 6mm thick in Aluminium - applied to different models (though that doesn't matter as long as you have the bolts of the right length to do them up - as previously mentioned on here too :smt002 )

Geoff when i tried to fit your shock, i compared your linkages and shock to mine. You definatly need the ohlins triangles and not your origional ones! Dont get mixed up with what you need :smt002
