I've been chuffed with my Khyam one touch thing. Durable, quite cheap and I can get erected in under a minute. Downside is they're bulky to lug about for the amount of accommodation.

Suggestion -

It has details of pack size and weight - I've no idea what you would want to carry but it doesn't look too bad to me.[/quote]

Not sure that Mart can rival that - even with his blue pills and several touches

Khyam Sutra?
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

These are the ones I'm considering; not too heavy or bulky for taking on the bike, though although certainly not meant for back-packing (not that I'm likely to be doing much of that any more)

Beta 350 would be my choice

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Not quite, Bobbi. Such a tent would be too large & heavy for bike camping; I'm after something a few inches higher, and a little roomier, than the usual smaller tents.

Sorry if I misled you.

The Lichfield looks nice but there is no price on there ... and it hasn't got Van Gogh's name on it.

They're all available cheaper than the manufacturers' RRPs; e.g. the Beta 350 is around £80 at several distributors, against Vango's RRP of £110.

A friend suggested that the vibrations of a bike can impair the structural integrity of the fibreglass poles; anyone got any knowledge of this?

A friend has a tipi style tent - he uses a trailer on his bike.
