As an aside, I dropped my blackbirds 10mm (at 14 and over the head shook like a dog with its favourite toy) undid the top bolts and about a 1/4 turn on the lower bolts, you can then use a rubber mallet on the yokes to tap it down (gently that is) took about 10 mins.

surely you're gotta remove the front wheel. How can you move one fork at a time when both still connected to the front axel :smt017

just noticed that :smt017 is by far my most used smilie

Slacken off one side more than the other (the side you're doing should be tighter)

Hi Bigun,

I slackened the clamps and tapped on a wooden block positioned on the top yoke , left then right etc. until I got the same number of rings showing both sides. I think mine is currently at 5 maybe 6 rings showing through.

You are a lot bigger than me and I reckon the fromt and rear sag settings will have something to do with things too. However I didn't mess around with one ring at a time. I dropped it a lot and then went out and gradualy explored what it changed.

It gave more feed back turning in and improved my confidence in the front end. Even dropping 5 rings in one go I did not feel any instability. It head shakes occassionaly accelerating across ripples and bumps but then I think thats when the fromt wheel is not exactly on the ground, and it has always done that. I can recomend it as possibly one of the best mods to a Falco at any cost, let alone as a freebe.

First, (and best), mod I ever do to a bike, 'cept the Falco cos it had already been done! :smt003
Did it with the wheel in on all me bikes.
Ya just gotta make sure to loosten the clamps just enough to allow you to slowly push the top yoke down to expose the desired ring.
You can gently mallet the yoke up or down to fine tune if required.

When the bike is sat on level ground there is some sag in the suspension (compressed a bit) If you slacken the bolts on one side of the yokes (and that is how they should be known, none of this American tripple clamp dribble) You can use this sag to push the fork throught the top yoke by a spinning it back and forth a bit. Effectively you are lowering the yokes when both sides are done.
