Really says it all:
- BMW riders in BMW gear or that rather good Helvarsson stuff
Ducrapy riders in Alpinestars
Harley riders in fringed jackets
Falco Riders (and other Ridersite kindred spirits) in Aldi and Lidl
Bit the same as our bikes really - good quality and the best bargain you can lay hands on.
That's us - value for money.

As soon as I started reading your post I could see where it was going. Absolutely true, and gave me a giggle...
Why pay over the odds just for the sake of fashion?

Tried the Aldi boots & windstopper undies today. Temperature 40 -44 degrees F (indicated by the Fut's air temp sensor), with soggy, dizzly mist/low cloud.
Comparing the boots to my Sidi Vertigo Mega Gores, they were reasonably comfortable, and nearly as warm, and showed no sign of letting the drizzle in. I particularly like the soles - more grippy than the Sidis, when paddling the bike down our slippy, weedy garden path (note to self - must clean! )
However, I found them rather bulky and stiff, particularly around the ankle; made gear changing a bit of an effort. I'd need to change the position of the gear lever if I were to wear them regularly.
As for the undies (worn under a Weiss Dynastar cordura suit) - for the money, they're fantastic. They're nearly as effective, perhaps even on a par with, my Oxford Chillout gear, costing 4 -5 times as much. Definitely recommended

Bugger, I'll have to go back to Aldi and get some now! - I know they're gents' but my other thermals are gents too cos ladies' thermals are never long enough in leg or body - and I'm not even very tall!

The boots do take a little while to break-in Mart.
I'm on my second pair which I bought a couple of years or more ago. Didn't wear them much to begin with as they weren't so comfortable to begin with - at least in comparison to the first ones. However after a while they broke in and have been great.
Can't say that I've much to compare them with though - the only bike boots I had previously to my Aldis were a 1970s vintage boot that you wore with seaboot stockings (no Paul, not fishnets) - think they were Lewis Leathers.

damn i got all.... scared there
Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
