Thanks to all who have donated. As said before and elsewhere, nobody should feel in any way forced to donate, it is just that, a donation. It is however greatly appreciated and all monies do go towards paying for the server space.

The front portal page will eventually be tidied up when i remember to contact Jake... :smt012 Something I keep forgetting to do!! It obviously states we are sponsored by BikeJohnny.. well no, as they ceased trading a while back!!

I only visit Aprilia parts and didn't see main page... again I've gained loads of info from here, and so will send a donation now!

Cheers.

OK, having a bit of grief here.

Try using the donation link and my PayPal password doesn't work. Go directly to PayPal and its fine :smt017

Anyone know the recipients login details and I'll donate directly within the PayPal site itself

Many thanks .... for the cash and the nice comments - indeed we've a great crowd on here and usually someone knows the answer for most problems

sorry a bit slow on the uptake, tenner sent :smt001

as an idea I belong to a VW T4 website which membership costs a £10 a year, now its free to join but to view the technical pages, classifieds etc you have to be a member, is this a route worth considering? Do we cover the bills with voluntary contributions?
Is it a road the forum want to go down?
Am I opening a can of worms here?

Hey fellas

Being a grubby Colonial I'm the worst lurker in the world so apols for not getting more involved.

Still a great site and source of endless useful info the Falco and all things Aprilia - happy to donate to keep my habit going!

Still enjoying the Black Bomber...unfortunately haven't really ventured much beyond scaring the locals in Central London and w/end rides in Sussex, Surrey and around Buckingham. One w/end trip to Wales increased the frustration so half thinking of a last minute Euro road trip over summer.....[/img]

Thanks for the donation Noeli0! It is appreciated :smt001

Naah, been there done that with various aspects of the forum in the past (Active card, pic hosting for paid up members, etc etc all done to death in previous incarnations of the site) and to be honest, with the quality of info contained within the site and the like, people are more than happy to chip in if asked as often as not the forum and its members have saved them a fortune in problems and mods.
It works better on a voluntary basis of donations rather than secreting all the info away out of sight 'unless you shell out your hard earned to view it' ..some people are stalwarts of the forums here yet wouldnt in a position to subscribe and I refuse for them to not have access to the info on the Site when theyve put shedloads of effort in to putting it there in the first place.
The bills get covered from what we do at the moment and we have no need at present for 'commercialising' it with subscriptions.

People can 'buy' a specialist title like some have, which is theirs forever so they dont have to follow the site's own rank system (pizza delivery, etc, etc) People can sponsor forums as has been done on one of the forums here already and they can donate as and when or if they see fit.

It works fine as is, at the moment although I still have a few things I may look into when I return from my imminent deployment to Oman, but that wont be for a while yet.

I was a member of the GPZ Owners' Club, that was a fiver for access to the forums which were ok. A great bunch of guys but people from 'outside' couldnt see what content was there to make their fiver worthwhile, which was sad as it's a wonderful thing they have hidden from public view. I'd rather people can see the site, judge it on it's own merit and go from there.

Hi Ozboy and thanks too
