It's a No from me too. Sorry but I am one of those southern softies, according to the AA autoroute its a 280mile round trip from SE London which in itself isn't out of reach but I have got a heavy (read drink feulled) night planned for Sat and don't want an early start on Sunday when I am still a bit pissed. :smt018
Guess what age bracket I registered, wouldn't have thought twice a few years ago.

I'll be there unless it's snowing, which looks a possiblity lookin out the window at work at the moment.

Forecast is better for weekend though.

Plan is still the same, meet up at the Barge from around 12 noon. If weather's fine, probably have a run out to Willingham around 2 ish or so, could leave earlier if everybody is happy to go for a run. Otherwise leave at around the same time as some people may want to set off home from Newark, if they've come a long way. Some may want to go home via Willingham I suppose. Could then go back from there, (either north or south), via the A15 I suppose.
Idea is to keep it all pretty open and see what people prefer on the day.
My original plan for the run out was to head out from Newark towards Gainsborough via the A1133 and A156. Then the A631 towards Market Rasen. Turning off on the A1103 and A46 to Caistor. Then from here a blast down the B1225 towards Ludford Parva and back on the A631 for the last short bit into Willingham Woods from the east side.
It's a mixture of some good fast sweepers and just a few tighter bits, that should take about an hour and 20 minutes or so. Totally open to any other ideas, just tried for a mix of some fun roads that won't take too long, so people won't be too late setting off home from Willingham after another cuppa.
Anybody else know any good roads we could fit in?
Or any other general thoughts?

Think somebody forgot to click on the vote, probably me.
As I see it so far we have 4 definates - Fastasfcuk, Falken, Loafersmate and me, but only shows 3.
Then have six probables - the Duke, D-Rider, Aladinsaneuk, Firestarter, Paddyz1 and Tweaker.
Then some others who may just make it on the day if weathers fine.
Then there's Goldie wimpin out on the short hop down from Aberdeen, on the excuse he ain't got an MOT.
Can't be more than an 800 mile round trip! Could try air freight down to Doncaster Airport. :smt051
Seriously - catch you some other time M8. Same for all the others, this only started as a local meet after all.

Suppose it's always nice to take the scenic route, even at this time of year!

The 800 was only a quick guess, and just checked Multimap, which reckons 407.5 one way, so did get it close! :smt019

Autoroute said 435 at the first attempt, but I don't know what options were set. Tried again and it gave me 374 for the shortest, so you were right first time!!! :smt019

Quickest is 452, via the M6.

Yeh but that might be good news. Whenever I hear a forcast a few days before, I always expect the exact opposite, and more often than not it's right! That's what's great about all these forecasts about global warming, the Met Office can't usually do an accurate forecast for this afternoon.
All we can do is keep our fingers crossed and see what it's like on Sunday morning.
