Hmmm
was talking with andy and madam flutter-buttocks about this shock last night - andy thinks it may be a repainted original shock .... He may well be right! I think there is a disparity in the two images - the one from eBay and the one posted earlier are I think a little different.
I would still return it - goods are not as they appear

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

... and the preload adjuster rings (Gold on the Falco shock)mrapriliafalco wrote: Could understand if it was just the spring that had changed colour but the body has also.
Looks like Im stuck with it.
Not sure the base of the shock body is the right shape either.
If in the unlikely event the main body had been stripped and re finished in a different colour (why would anyone spend money doing that to one of those shocks?) then I doubt that it would have the Sachs stickers on it.
They are probably right in that they stripped it off a Falco - I'm guessing a previous owner put it on. They are wrong in describing it as an original Falco shock.
Unfortunate as it is, the offer to let you have the one they pictured or to swap it for an original shock as they described does not seem entirely unreasonable - though obviously it would be better if they refunded you.
We know the Blue spring shock isn't very good but we know nothing about the one you have except it supposedly came off of a Falco. I wonder if it is actually an improvement?
I'm guessing you are going to have to put this down to experience .... and begin to rival me with your collection of paperweights .... I have 3 blue spring shocks and 3 pairs of standard cans I've accumulated - not by design but because they came with other parts.

If you are collecting the original blue spring shock I've got one you can have. They are rubbish. Andy has obviously put his to far better use as paper weights. I replaced mine with a 2003 Mille which does have a yellow spring but as stated previously it also has a reservoir at the top. I would definitely pursue a refund, if unsuccessful with the seller try a claim via ebay, you have nothing to loose. Good luck!

I phoned the guy,he said send it back and will replace for the blue one he also has, which is pointless.
I still cant work this shock out,Thought I was getting a mille
I could understand if just the spring had been changed to a yellow BUT a gold body also??? looks the same as the falco blue.
SO even all the non euro falcos had a blue

There are 2 Tuono's in DK Newcastle with yellow spring shocks. 1 is a 54 plate and the other is, I think, a 55. Was in there on Wednesday for half an hour during my break and saw them and immediately thought of this thread. Unfortunately didn't have a copy of the OP's pic on me to do a full check but at least now we know that the spring colour might narrow the search to Tuono. Maybe. Possibly.

I'm right 98% of the time so why worry about the other 3%?
