When I 1st had my bike it had an 020 on, it lasted so long it lost its shape, which is one reason I used Diablo's after :smt001

Now I don't know how heavy a Falco is, but a Blackbird with full tank and rider is about 330Kg (my weight that is). I had 2 sets of Diablos on it and I used to get 6k out the rear and 7.5k at the front and the bike did several trackdays as well.
It's my understanding that twins are harder on rear tyres than say IL4s due to the power pulses putting more strain on the tyre.

Ooh I liked that....... let me say that again........ P O W E R P U L S E S :smt003

Running Bridgestones, 020 on rear, but now matched with an 014 front. Had previously run an old VFR with 010 front 020 rear and worked well so thought I'd try it on the Falco. Well pleased so far.
Get 4,500 plus miles on BT020 rear
and 7,500 plus miles on BT014 front, which was a pleasant surprise.
Have found this this combination is just as good as the Avon Azarro SPs, I tried a while ago, in summer, and much better in winter.
But I only got 5000 plus miles on the front Azarro
and 2,986 miles, (to totally shot) on the rear!
Intresting comparison with a big IL4 like Blackbird. My CBR1000F with less power (135bhp) and more weight than a Blackbird, gets 6500 on the front and 6600 rear with BT020s. So more miles on the rear and less on the front than the Falco.

Just noticed my front 020 is near-smooth and need to replace it ASAP, (skint so cant afford a pair but the rear is fine anyway, (180/55 btw))!
Question is; Am I okay to replace the 120/70 with a 120/60? :smt017
Obviously I understand the fact that the front will be a little lower, but will the profile be different?
I had considered getting an 010 instead but wasnt sure of mixing the two; Anyone any experience, good or bad, of doing this? Again, I understand the reasons, (grippier front, longer lasting rear), but does it work?
Any answers as soon as poss please; I need this sorting out this Saturday in time fer a ride on Sunday, (weather permitting), and work on Monday!
Ta. :smt006
Two is the magic number... ;)

010 or 014, should run OK with the 020 rear.
Not done it myself but know of people who have.

Be careful on the run out on Sunday, let the tyre get scrubbed in first before caning it.
