say about the silent majority etc but do stress that you did not realise he had pulled a knife on you, you just acted on instinct adn now you are scared of what might have been

i suspect that the local media will have a feel day - and that should nicely prejudice the court pre proceedings :)

(Magistrates and immediate referral to crown court as it is a custodial sentence over 6 months?)

oh - and well done

(Don't let the fun happen for a few months.... I know that a local scrote who beat me up is now getting nervous as i am moving out of the area.... tempus fugit as they say .....)
If there are any factors which are likely to affect the outcome of any forthcoming trial, for example adverse media publicity which names or gives out so much information that the offender can be identified then the net result will be that the defence lawyer (hereafter referred to as 'legal criminal') would have a field day and the case will get thrown out...its subjudicy. Hats off to you for catching this arsehole in the first place, he more than deserved a smack. I have to say though, that in my experience, arseholes like theses usually come from a long line of arseholes, and form part of an extended arsehole family, so it may well be the case that when you pick a fight with one, you pick it with them all, and the only time they work as a team is when faced with something exactly like this. You can obviously handle yourself and if you live on your own and have no family to worry about then go do what you have to, otherwise, I think I would be more inclined to let it go, believe me, the law is so heavily weighted to the rights of the accused that the 'good' guy always seems to cop it, I have seen it happen many times. They now know where you live remember, and I know you are inferring that A N Other would be doing the 'deed'....but why risk it.

I have upgraded security now with 2 cctv cameras, and 6ft lockable gates. Will be fitted next weekend. Its been something i been looking to do but not got round to it.

I've never been in a fight in my life, and abhore violence, but top marks to you for stopping the lowlife. It's not just about who has & who has not - stealng a guy/gals bike is a personal attack in my book. I think your secuity updates are spot on though, with one extremely effective ommission.........a couple of Aligators - beautiful creatures that treat all meat equally :-)
