I know that I've used it as my associated email account for MSN and a number of other things

Will I have any problems with these (particularly the things that I've not remembered associating with this email addy)?

TBH I thought it had. I will try to find out whether it was renewed and if so for how long, or if the demise is imminent.

Ok. Having made further enquiries it seems that ridersitemail.com expires at the end of December so we have a bit more time to make a decision.

It now seems that a few more people than I realised do use it, some regularly, so I feel the cost, of under £1/wk may be justified. It is a useful standby and maybe more people will use it now they know it exists. There may also be many others that have registered different accts using it in the distant past, as D-R said he has, for whom it could cause probs.

What do you all think?

Not a huge problem for me sam - I have appreciated having the account and have used it a bit for email - though not extensively.
I have used it when signing up to things and I've no idea what would happen with those things if it were to disappear - most probably nothing (though I've no idea where I have used it)
That said, I doubt any problems I could encounter would be insurmountable.

If enough use it and it's worth keeping then I'm very happy BUT if it sucks funds away that we need to keep the forum going - well the choice is obvious.

I shouldn't have singled you out Andy.
It has been in existence for the best part of 10 years and was much busier in the early days. There must be many people, probably including myself, who will have registered at various places on the web using it.

The fact that most no longer post here may or may not be relevant. :smt002
As you said, not an insurmountable prob in any case.

Happy to be used as the example Sam - no worries

Soooo - has this now gone for good?

Yesterday I logged in to my Ridersitemail account and got in there with no problem.
I sent a message to my work email account .... it hasn't turned up.
I sent an email to my Ridersitemail account from work ... today it's still not there.

It clearly doesn't seem to be working - though it does seem odd that I can still sign in to it.

..... and of course, silly me gave this mail addy when signing up to something and they've sent my activation email there .... Doh!

Should be fully functional. :smt017
It was renewed at the end of December.

Tim should be home today I think. I'll let him have a play. :smt002

Hmmm

Well, as I said, I can log in but messages sent don't seem to turn up ... in either direction

OK, will do - though not sure what to check - I've not changed anything since it was working a while back.

I think there was a classic view and 'the other one'
Nothing should be lost in transition between the two but maybe something has. I must say ive had no problems at all with RS mail. Doesnt mean they dont occur, just Ive suffered no ills.

Hmmm ....................

Well, this evening I managed to send an email from ridersitemail to my main personal email account.

However the reply I sent hasn't turned up and neither has another test email I sent to my ridersitemail account.

Can't see anything unusual in my settings and the rich webmail and Classic versions are both behaving the same.
