A quick update......

I've had my redundancy package which adds up to a lot more than I was expecting. I've also secured some work within my own business that gets me started. I can see me earning next month’s money and keeping the redundancy money in reserve which gives me that much more time to find either some more of the same sort of work, or permanent employment.

Thanks for the heads up GRFalco but it’s a long time since I did any C++ and MFC and even then I only did it to fill in, when we were between people with those skills. I'm getting up to speed with C# .NET these days having done a lot of VB6 SQLServer development.

Thanks again for all your good wishes.

See you tomorrow then?

And glad things do not look as bleak as you feared Keith :)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Good news, and that's a scarce commodity these days! :smt001

We're in our 'consultation period' but have been advised that 76 out of 516 have to go !

I'm leaving the odds calculations to the Quantity Surveyors .........they're good at numbers ........allegedly :smt003

It is tough out there. My sister manages an OT team and she is now advised that they are cutting managers from 6 to 3 . She is stressed.

The consulting period is awfull for every one and does a lot of damage to the moral of those who remain.

So good luck with those odds sidestand.
