Falco "comfort"...

I believe that alot of discomfort/pain from riding a motorcycle is down to poor core strength, i.e. weak core muscles mean other muscles in the arms, shoulders or back take up the strain and you feel it there. Work on your core muscles for 3 months (it only takes a few minutes each day) and I am guessing you would notice a difference.

Been out for a ride again today, I think it's more the fact I haven't ridden road bikes in a couple of years thats making it hurt more than a real problem.. today I done about 100 miles and barely stopped, wasn't really in much pain at all until the last few miles but wasn't nearly as bad as yesterday, right hand hurt more than me back today haha. I think I just need to get a bike and ride lots and I'll soon build up those "biking" muscles again...!
Shame falco's seem to be the rarest bike on ebay

I've noticed that a kidney belt helps with the lower back pain, I'm using something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ALPINESTAR-ORION- ... 240%3A1318
Since we're on the subject of raising bars, which ones are available but don't require new throttle/brake/clutch lines, and just bolt straight in?
How many rings showing do you need to have to put the clip ons above the top yoke?

I have moved mine to above the yokes. Not sure how many rings it was but if you measure the depth of the clip on clamp - it's that much. Probably about 10 - 12 mm ??

three rings visible is enough to put the bars over the triple crown
and we may have dodgy backs but our ribs work
and we get to ride our bikes at the moment - and the weather has been glorious down here, so nice it has almost dried the swamp out....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
No bad back here. Although I'm probably a bit younger than the rest of you "old farts".Fausto wrote:Reading through this thread has got me wondering if there are any Falco riders who DO NOT suffer from bad backs ?

It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.
Mine's set up with 5 rings showing. *shrug* It works fine for me and handles like a dream.Aladinsaneuk wrote:three rings visible is enough to put the bars over the triple crown.
