I think I'll make a note of these chaps. They're local enough to ride over easily to see them and cheap enough to make it worthwhile. I'm looking for a 1 into 2 stainless hose with stainless fittings to suit my 'new' 4 piston calipers and radial master cylinder and these guys sound ideal...

Cheers!

You'll see a BIG impovement with braided lines and the 4 pad calipers, they give about 90% of the performance you'd get from the RSVR radial caliper set up, well worth if for a fraction of the radial's price.

Er yes, I meant to say 4 pad calipers... Rather looking forward to trying that particular upgrade out!

I've just done that mod, 4-pad calipers and braided lines, (two full lines) and I have to say it shocked me how much better the brakes now are, really powerfull and loads of feel in the lever.

Hey all,

Here's the URL for their eBay store.

I think when the planets align and I have some spare pennies lying around, I'll get myself a set.

They are on UK ebay too - I was looking at them yesterday - think I searched with "Cobra" and "braided" or "brake"or something similar.

You're not wrong .... I went there once - Oz is even a long way from other bits of Oz.

The planets aligned a few weeks back and I ordered a set of 'race' front lines and two clutch lines. (I bought some MotoBits rear-sets and need the longer line to get the back brake working.)

I'm impressed with the quality of the lines (and yes, they do have 'HEL' stamped into them). Although I just realised that I ordered them in black with black fittings and they've supplied the standard silver / silver ones. Oh well...

Hel definitely appear to be the new Goodridge... And yes, the quality of their stuff is excellent. I like the fact that they refuse to supply plated steel banjos/fittings. Plated mild steel shouldn't be allowed anywhere near brake fluid and road crud IMHO.

I've heard good things about HEL and was about to upgrade the hoses on my Fazer before she met with her demise :(

This winter I'll be doing quite a bit of work/maintenance on the bike including braided hoses all round and will bookmark cobra for future reference :)

I got them to make me a set to my specs, which they did and did quite a nice deal since I can avoid VAT (non reident) that offsets the postage.

Very nice to deal with, helpful and Ian rides a Falco.

What is the set-up

#30 Post by old git » Sun May 23, 2010 5:15 pm

Looking at these Cobra lines, on the bike I have a line coming from the MC which splits at a T above the plastic splashplate before going down the the calipers.
Is this OEM or racing set-up
I am confused (it is quite easy you know)
In the description, says racing is a 2 line set-up, & OEM is via a 'slpitter'
Is the 'T' what they are calling the splitter, how do I know which one to get ??
