no where near. Brackets about 2 inches out (easily moved), but ... the connection between can and exhaust is completely different...different bore size .. the inner bore of the RSV can is the same size as the outer bore on the falco exhaust.

anyone got standard falco cans for sale ... need shipped to Glasgow though !! ??

cheers
Could you use the link pipe off your cans and attach it to the main exhaust section of the new RSVR can?. By drillling out the rivets on each can and separating them would they swap over at all?, the width looks simialr but I can't see the overall shape off your photo. If you could graft it on you'd lose the CAT off the new exhausts and have a nice sounding exhaust system, not too loud but not too quiet either

Worth a go???

no, the rsv can is alot bigger than the ART can.

If i really really wanted to use the rsv cans, im sure i could make them fit with some cutting and welding...but..the easiest and simplest way would be to sell the rsv cans and buy a pair of Falco standard cans ... which is what im going to do :-)

All you need there is a hacksaw, a welder, and a stonking great jubilee clamp. As FalcoPops says, "Sorted.".

cans cans cans

Ive had a good look at these cans now.
Ill be able to fit them if i could get a hold of some pipe with 45mm inside diameter and 49-50mm outside diameter.

Ill cut down the cans, about 2 inches, slide in the pipe cutting, weld, leave 1 inch pipe showing, which will then slide snuggly onto the exhaust .. sorted

so far, ive anly been able to find 48mm inside/51mm outside pipe.

The cans hanger is held on with one rivet underneath, if i grind this off, i should be able to slide the hanger into the correct position.
Once ive got them mounted, ill post photos.

almost mounted.

Just need to weld in sleeve and spring mount hook.

looks pretty good on the black falco, alot quieter than the race cans, but, still growls :-)

I thought they might be a bit too big for the Falco, but you've proved me wrong, they look pretty good

Yeah - looks good (despite being twice the number of cans you need to lug around :smt002 )

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

job done

#26 Post by sthomson1 » Tue Oct 14, 2008 4:06 pm

huge difference with noise ... slight growl from exhaust and huge growl from induction :-)

Makes the bike far more pleasant to ride, for me, without the noisy exhausts ... i also thinks it looks better with these cans.

I ended up cutting off 4 inches from the cans, and then welding in a sleeve, and new spring tags. The sleeve was made from a chrome exhaust trim (45mm inside diameter). the 90mm chrome springs are from a motocross shop.
