One of the problems is that it is too upright, so bike can easily be blown over by a sudden gust of wind.
It has also been known to fall over on the stand side if it sinks into a soft surface or caught by even stronger wind.
Needs a stronger stand with a better angle and a bigger footprint.
Various options available and people all have their own favourites, GSXR, VTR, US Falco Stand, unit off eBay.
I use the latter and has been fine for me.

Maybe a change in diet would moderate this wind problem?

At least you can check the oil while on the side stand :smt002

erm, actually you are supoosed to have an assistant hold the bike vertical while checking the oil....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Not under it - I saved it ..... could probably have done with an assistant though (or a brain).

I don't know if anyone has tried this or not, but I've handed over my Falco sidestand, bracket and a nearly new GSXR 1000 K7/8 sidestand to a local engineering firm where an ex-colleague works and they are going to make a hybrid out of both stands.

Basically they are going to cut the top off the Falco sidestand (where the cast part is welded to the main pipe) and also cut the top (mounting point) off the GSXR stand and then weld the Falco top to the GSXR stand. They will also fill the GSXR stand with weld where it needs it. Anyone who has compared a Falco and GSXR stand back to back should know what I mean.

This means that I should (hopefully) get the best of both stands; the sturdiness and correct angle of dangle of a GSXR stand, and the switch mounting points etc of the Falco stand. They have promised that the quality of weld will be better than that on the Falco (probably not too difficult). I should know early next week whether it's been an inspired move or a disaster...

I'll also post some pictures up (had I thought about it I should have taken before and after pics, but didn't).

Nah, you must have something non standard :smt017

For example a different stand or raised rear shock ?

When I first got mine I would park it up and then walk away backwards often with several returns to see if it was really leaning on the stand or just balancing upright and ready to fall the moment my back was turned. Cold sweat ? Yep :smt005

And my bike has obviously been dropped onto it's left side at some point at very low or no speed as have, I am prepared to bet, about 50 % of all Falcos on the planet. :smt009

The falco I own looks like it was destined for the Dutch market,I agree the bike stands upright but as long as im careful as to where I park I am confident that it will still be in that position when I get back.
The bike has been dropped on that side so I guess the previous owner was not
