I use a winter hack, my old CBR100F, but South Yorks roads are crap.
(i.e the surface damage and what they throw on them in winter).
The sugar beet shite, (sorry road salt!), we use around here will eat anything.
I use an NWS hugger, essential I reckon to keep crap off the rear shock.

I always thought the oil cooler needed a stone guard Nooj, so i made one from fine mesh and added a mud flap mine is a little crude but it did the job.

I went for a slightly bigger "mud flap" on mine, think you may get one from Skidmarx -

Works for me, I ride all year round and along with the hugger it certainly helps keep the crap off!

Deffo needs a stone guard, it's in such a vulnarable possition. I have the Beowulf stuff which is pretty good. I was wondering about some kind of crap flap to protect the rear shock linkage as well.

Interesting idea, that I hadn't thought of as the lower linkage is pretty vulnerable and we all know they can seize up.
Difficult bit would be coming up with something that didn't spoil the looks.
Have to think on that before winter sets in.
