Don't think Nooj needs to see if they'll make grp ones as there are already plenty about.

Options:
  • 1. Skidmarx
    2. Pifkee (Peter on this forum makes them - search and you will find)
    3. Second hand ... bound to be a few coming up soon from those upgrading to carbon and also a few from those of us that have done the 2into1 exhaust mod and find their skidmarx no longer fits. Mine will be up for grabs when I've convinced myself that there really is no way I can get it to fit.

GRP ones are also being talked about, they'll be in gel coat ready for painting if they happen.

.... but hasn't the mould been taken from a skidmarx pan ?

Fair enough (sort of) using it for CF bellypans as skidmarx don't make them but not really that ethical to make direct rip-off copies IMHO.

It won't be a direct copy, I've tinkered with it so it'll fit with a GSXR stand and no doubt they'll tweek bits here and there to make it different enough to avoid any patent infringements.

If I were Mr Skidmarx, I'd be very unhappy that someone was, essentially, ripping off the design that I'd worked hard to make .... even if there are a few minor tweaks.

Mr Skidmarx should have carried on his own development instead of continuing with one that appears to be rapidly becoming obsolete. :smt002

:smt102 What he said. All above board and legal in the world of business, Mr. Skidmarx can like it or lump it.

Thought he did - developing products for bikes that are not yet becoming obsolete - hopefully on the back of funds generated by sales of the products already developed.

Maybe not strictly "right" but as mr skidmarx doesn't make one in carbon (as far as I know) to make a carbon version does not seem unreasonable but to rip-off his design to make something essentially the same is rather more questionable

I mean his design becoming obsolete, superceded.
There appear to be distinct differences.

It will be sufficiently different, more like the one that RSVR.net sold.

The big difference being that the Skidmarx one doesn't fit properly with the GSXR stand, this one will as a sizable chunk has been removed (yes, with a hacksaw :smt004 ).

Should have used a dremel-like thingy like I did ..... wouldn't say that I had to remove much material at all - certainly very localised.

But then it would just be almost an exact copy of the Skidmarx one :smt003
