Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
For God's sake PLEASE keep this quiet .... the shame if it ever gets out that the Falco is a hairdresser's bikeViffer wrote:You're not gonna believe it but as far as I can tell it's bog standard, my mate recons it was owned by a hairdresser and all he-she-it did was wash and blow dry it, He could be right, I'll do some checking but it looks like a good base line to start from.

Welcome to the site Peter, nice choice of bike and the best colour.
Also the fastest colour, Black, whatever else you here.
The Falco goes and sounds well with any new cans.
I have Beowulf gold shade titanium ovals on mine. They come with road legal (
) baffles, and believe me, you won't want to take em out. Also means you can stay with the standard ECU chip, I just run with a K&N kit.
Just to let you know what they look like on a 2001 Black Falco -

Welcome Viffer,
Got a standard black un, so that should get them other colours a bit defensive.
So you've made one good free spirited decision based upon what floats your boat. So whats the next?
More noise? a few choices there, lots of different options can be recommended. I'm happy that the Aprillia RC carbon fibre cans with chip are a class act which doesn't imply that there are not other good options out there.
More go? cans, chip and evo air box & filter or Rene type air box mod seems to add 10 + bhp. Drop the gearing 15/42 or 16/44 works if around town, track day or ultimate scratching is your boat. I've tried that for the last 15K and now put it back to standard because I'm doing a lot of motorway long distance commuting and I like the long legged feel.
Better handling, well if you have cash then Ohlins shock, Raceteck front fork internals or Ohlins replacement, light weight OZ wheels or the BST carbon ones. My cheapo recommendation is to drop the yokes on the forks to get beter front end feel and when they wear out ensure you have some decent rubber.
Want to keep it shinney side up? alter the side stand. If you feel the the back end going then that 's fine, if you feel the front end going then give it some more gass.....
Want to keep your license? if some one is watching then behave.
Enjoy.
