Welcome Al...nothing bog standard about that one...sooper sexy colours
. First thing to check for is that it has been de-restricted, there is an urban myth that this should be done at the PDI...mine wasn't, its easy to do and the difference is brilliant. As for rubber, Conti Road Attacks for me, cant praise them highly enough although each to their own, there are options out there. I still run the OE shock on mine, I think most people who mod them just cant handle the original, mostly silver/red/black/yellar falco riders though
the black/bronze riders are the real men (plus I'm too tight to shell out for a new shock
). VTR sidestand for me although I never did the modding bit it doesn't seem too difficult, someone on here will tell you how if you ask. You can also get an adaptor that fits between the stand and the frame which does a good job (I have one spare if you are interested) but to be honest its not a patch on the mod. There are also after market belly pans available, some like them (me
) others think they spoil the lines but the bronze ones suit them IMO. Then there are huggers...then there are smoked lens...then there are.... oooh the list goes on!

I think a complete vtr stand with the switch is the easiest one of the options to do
Agree on the conti road attacks :)
rearshock - well worth it - ESPECIALLY if you then get the bike set up by a suspension specialist - that was worth every penny of its cost
aftermarket cans - lots of choices - all of the main contenders are legal with the baffles in... cheapest option is probably Fuel but there are other choices... ie, how much wonga have you got?? LOL I like my blue flame cans btw
other mods are... interesting to say the least
also, a few of us do meet up at assorted places each year it seems - the national aprilia club meet in peterborough could be good again!
(And funnily enough D-Rider - Jane may well be coming again)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
Yeah - hoping to get there this year, Pete - nobody's told me I've got any friends weddings to attend this year or other such stuff.Aladinsaneuk wrote: also, a few of us do meet up at assorted places each year it seems - the national aprilia club meet in peterborough could be good again!

BTW talking of Jane, has she got her license sorted out yet?

Hi Al.
just seen your post on AF1.
I reckon the US stand is the easiest fit. Just cut off the extra lug.
I got mine of a guy breaking his mille on the AF1 forum.

Hi n welcome aboard Big_AL!
As you can possibly tell by now, there are a couple of mods available to us chosen Falco-Pilots. Top of the list is to get it bloody repainted SILVER!
Then the sidestand, (I used a Gixer7 stand; needed very little work and still utilises the cutout switch).
Then the shock.

Two is the magic number... ;)
Silver? Why would you want a bike that looks like it's covered in primer
Thanks again guys.
I have got my eye's open for a belly pan, think they look good. I've got a cheap blade stand on it's way to me, dunno if it'll fit or not but was worth a go at that price. If not i'll get a vtr one off ebay.
What is this derestriction you speak of? I'll have a search on the forum and find out, although I don't think it is restricted, it's a proper uk bike and pulls like a train...

Have you been getting lessons from Pierre?D-Rider wrote:Yes - even official UK bikes came restricted (well some anyway - including mine)
Derestriction info HERE
Pull the restrictor out of the airbox and snip the wire for the second map

what he really means is remove air box and take out the screw holding the bung in place and replace air box. Disconnect block from ECU carefully remove connector pin from block using pointed screwdriver to flatten locating tang and withdraw from block and insulate well, replace block.
Thanks for the info, I had a quick butchers and the wire is cut, couldn't be arsed to check the air box but reckon the bike is not restricted. Certainly doesn't feel restricted riding it, with the way that motor pulls those tyres aren't going to last 5 minutes! Used to do a rear BT014's in 3.5K miles on my old Fazer 6 reckon i'd be lucky to get 2K on this bike. When i come to replace them it'll probably be for sports touring tyres to get a bit more mileage
