No - honestly, the reliability/lifetime of LED technology is much much better than filament bulbs ..... as long as the LEDs are being used within their design parameters. If they're failing this is almost certainly due to poor design by whoever produced the modules - i.e. not working within the operating limits of the LEDs that they used within the modules.HowardQ wrote: As for reliability of LEDs in general .....

Back to the angled LEDs, I said that I thought they would be necessary but was surprised that with the units I was using (Nooj's ones) that they could be seen well from the side. That doesn't mean for different configurations or with different LEDs, you will get the same effect.
That being said, I think the point of angling some of the LEDs is that they will actually shine in different directions - very little of their light will be going towards the reflector.
As for daylight visibility, I've not really assessed this as that's when they're turned off! - although there isn't a problem in my brake lights being seen.
