The forum software doesnt delete or archive by default, Ive had a look but cannot see a reason why theyve been deleted. Mine go back to Oct 11 but thats due to me deleting and archiving mine manually myself at random times since then. Before that, I had emails going back to 2006

All I can imagine is some were lost with the server change, how, I do not know though.

I did note the forum admin tools were set to allow forum pruning, but this is nothing to do with the messaging side of life.. thats something that annoys as we have never had it set to 'on' as we dont prune the forums for fear of losing important information held in various threads.

Either there was a problem at server swap over time (unlikely as the software is moved en masse as a forum not transferred from one forum image to another) or someone has touched something at some time.

It could all be linked but that is doubtful.

The forum isn't broken, I hasten to add.

Cheres Tim - and BTW I wasn't complaining, just noting how it has worked for me (and I think it's always been like that AFAIK)

They will be saved in the phpbb database tables somewhere.....been a while since i used phpbb (because its so freaking old!) but if you need any help 'retrieving' the messages, then let me know.
