there is an italian company that sells race plastics - so get a fairing off them - butcher that and paint

Pete, I've been looking for a useable faring on fleabay for a little while but nothings come up. I've seen replica upper fairings listed in Poland or somewhere and an identical item here at £170. That still then needs to be sprayed which starts mounting up for something to butcher, but I'll keep my eyes peeled. :smt003

Just buy the new 1100 V4 tuono (because apparently 1000 wasn't fast enough :) ) and tell us how much of a hoot it is to ride

I've just finished putting raised bars on mine, not ridden it yet so can't comment on the riding position. You'll be looking at several hundred quid by the time you have a top yoke, risers, bars, new hoses, fairing, respray of fairing, new grips, new mirrors.

A mate of mine 6'1" tall has just test ridden an old tuono and he said that although the arm position was better than his gixxer, the legs were still quite cramped.

Not sure which point I'm trying to make with this but maybe a few things to ponder.
Pass me a hammer, a spanner and a cuppa
