Cheers!
Its only the rims that are polished, the rest is actually gloss black but hard to tell from a distance.
If you need to ride in bad conditions, I'd be keeping the std wheels on and keeping your Oz wheels for best in summer.

Well, what a flaming week.
The wheels got caught by the Aus Customs people. Seems they don't like people trying to bring high-value goods into the country without paying an extortionate amount of tax.
I just coughed up 10% of their value, plus a "processing" fee.
ETA is one week, if everything works smoothly.

It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.
Getting back to changing the wheel's colour, can I get these things re-anodised?
If so, what preparations do I need to make?
(And are they made of magnesium or aluminium? None of the reading I've done tells me.)

Hi Viking, the wheels are forged aluminium, so you don't have the complications you get with magnesium. I put a set on my Flamingo Red/Anthracite Falco and had them powder coated metallic black, which works really well. Wouldn't know about getting them anodised a different colour; guess you'd need to speak to the anodisers. But anodising can be a bit of a hit and miss process where colour is concerned, I've heard. You may not get the exact shade you want.
Thanks for the answer, Mango. There's a couple of anodising placed near here so I'll give them a call tomorrow.
A mate also pointed me at the 'hydrodipping' mob that can put all manner of patterns onto just about anything.
I rang one today and whilst they can't do a satin black (black chrome is what I asked for), they can do a rather natty carbon fibre. The idea of carbon fibre OZs is simultaneously appealing and appalling.

Haunt eBay, the For Sale section here, and the 'American Aprilia Forum'. They do come up from time to time. It's just a matter of waiting.squadron Nero wrote:Soooo nice. I really want a set.
