because if they can make an X thats their mark and therefore a signature

they are then recruited

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

After months of silence my renewal arrived with this incident marked down as 'TP cut into Drivers lane' and not my fault, not even 50/50.

Some months ago I received a call from my insurance company trying to put together a defence against a whiplash claim from the TP. Once I repeated to him that the impact barely upset the bike I think he was quite happy that whiplash was unlikely.

With minimal damage to both vehicles (more to the car than to the bike :smt003 ) and the fact that I wasn't claiming for anything I guess the TP realised it was better for them to drop their claim.

Hopefully the knuckle dragger was charged with some sort of offence as I got the impression he wasn't supposed to have been driving that van..

With an insurance situation it's my experience that the best thing to do is to keep repeating what ACTUALLY happened, regardless of what the other party says - they tend to trip themselves up in the end, like the car driver who insisted he had not hit on a roundabout (years ago on my little bike) and eventually said that he thought I had "panicked when he entered MY LANE".

Hahhaha that did it! I got the lot - full value of the bike (very little) plus clothing, time off work, expenses, and 'pain and distress'. I'd never have gone for all that if he hadn't tried to make out it was MY fault!
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.
