As the rub mark has a 'start' it may simple be that you hit a bit on debris in the road whilst cranked over.

If you have checked that nothing it rubbing, the next stop is to check the pressures, after that have a quick check to make sure your wheel is aligned and tight, it may not be rubbing in the garage but under load (and leant over) it may be shifting.

I would ask how the handling is, but it must be pretty sweet if you're scrubbing to the edge of a set of Pirelli's.

still haven't had chance to check pressures (busy with work :smt012 ).

the mark is around the entire circumference on both sides of the tyre. I know the wheel is tight as I torqued it up. I only ever take loose wheels to get tyres put on.

i'll check the pressures and get back, and yeah the handing is fine :smt002

Have a word with the tyre fitter, see if it's possible that they've done something during fitting

Seems to me the problem is excessive corner speed :)

Solution

A) Slow down
B) Stop looking at the rear tyre :)

haha, They may have been simlar marks on my old tyres. I never looked i only noticed them after coming home after the first run to see if they were scrubbed in properly.

Flatlander has them now, and i do still have some pics on the for sale thread. I'll have a look at them now.
