I spent an hour on the phone today to VOSA, all of our drivers are being forced to falsify Driver Hours records to ensure they can clear up all the recycling over the chrismas/new year period.( with driver hours to spare )
The outcome of the phone call ?
Totally illegal :smt013
They dont give a shit how many drivers get fined a minimum of £2000 and loose their licenses as long as they can sit by the heater in the office and not have to do any fucking work, which is part of their fucking job description
Not really sure how you would falsify hours with the new tacho card system. And tbh f/b your drivers are well within their rights to say no.
It is them that will get shafted as well as your transport manager too.
Tolerance will be our undoing.

Fatboy - my other half had problem when he was doing multi-drop for Parcel Force (except back then there was no tacho for them) - he simply refused to work more hours than he should (actually more than they would pay him for!) - he was still much in demand though!

More trouble than it's worth trying to get ride of an employee who is simply sticking to the law, specially as all sorts of skeletons come out of the cupboard!

Oops, should have said we drive off tacho and manually record driver hours ( Domestic Hours Regulations ).
Obviously this system relies on some honesty from drivers and managers, not managers altering the law to suit
Yes, drivers are within their rights to say no but it is made more than clear that life can be made difficult for them, if the driver is agency, then he/she can expect no more work with us.
I am trying to get us unionised, we clearly need it, managers not playing fair and using every avoidance tactic

Mike was agency driving for ParcelFarce (not a typo) but they still asked for him - mostly cos no-one else would go there!

We were recently taken over by another company, who have supported 'blacklisting', it would not be politic to name them, so Keir Construction shall remain nameless.
We have 70/75% membership, they have agreed to the union in principle but the office adopted stray cat has yet to read and approve the document that says We the Union will jump through burning hoops backwards and nail our testicles to a table before even whispering industrial action ect....
More delaying tactcs as the drivers are being heavily leaned on to falsify driving records.
Sorry, makes my piss boil
