Just bought a universal damper, the mount on the damper body has a split clamp so is adjustable along the length of the body.
As I said , a peek behind the fairing didnt look like Shetland's pic.
Sorry if Im missing something glaringly obvious !
Ok so I just fitted mine and unless you have hands like a a small child it's a fucking bitch!!!! Anyhooooo here are some pictures (Hopefully in the right order for you to see what I have done.
Firstly this is how it will look once it it finished. Look at this to see the order of parts. ....

Forgive the dirt on the bike I was out and just got back and decided to fit it. Anyhooooo see the black cover/flap that the hoses are going through it has three bolts take this off. (Unless you can fit it without doing this. I couldn't)
I pulled it down like so.....
Then if you look up under it you will see one of the mounting points. Looks like this....
Then I put the o rings, the two funny washers and the M6 (30mm) bolt thru the steering dampener bracket and attached it to the mount like so......One is a shot from below and the other from the side/above.
After that was done I located the other mount which is on the right hand shock.......
Then just put the 10mm M6 clearance spacer under the ball joint and thread the M6 30mm bolt thru and whey hai!!! all good. Just tighten it all up and put back on the flap and thats it!!!!
Now if I have done anything wrong, please tell me so I can correct it. This is the first time I have tried to actually post "How to/I did it" kind of thing. hope it helps.
