Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

111 in the news again today, sending ambulance to woman with period pains deemed ' life threatening' by 111 operator.
Every sympathy to the sufferer but Im sure the period pains were only 'life threatening' to any one in close proximity
Cleverly disguised as an adult !

A - it's outlawed
B - you shouldn't do it on children under 5....
It's not outlawed and they only recommend you dont try it on kids under 1, pregnant women and the obese.

With respect

Under current CPR guidelines for the NHS

It's not used

I last updated my advanced CPR last year, Hanna redid her basic update 6 months ago

It may well be used by some first aiders (NHS direct states back slaps , St. John's still teaches it I believe)

I stress that there is a world of difference in professional practice against others (we get sued for a start)

I would also point out that we are bound by the NMC code of conduct and as such are both responsible and accountable for our actions - and as such our guidelines are generally very specific

Well? Did the change do him any good? :smt003

I vaguely remember being held upside down and shaken after inhaling a boiled sweet as an infant. Happens easily enough.

Excellent! I hope you recovered the cash!

Nooj has reminded me of being inverted and skelped after some passerby gave me a Spangle (remember them?) while I sat outside a shop waiting for my Mum, who returned to find me choking. Changed days; we never left our kids alone anywhere!
