I did something similar to my ankle in April 2012. X-rays showed that I had no fracture but the A&E doctor said that I needed to be patient as it could take months to heal. I took her at her word and suffered for 6 months with severe pain and greatly restricted activity before seeing my GP who immediately recommended physiotherapy. The physio said that, ideally, she would have wanted to strat work on me two weeks after the incident. So, after much manipulation and exercising, one year after the accident I was back to normal. My point is, Blinky, don't make the mistake I did and see a physio asap!

Mine was last week at Newcastle-on-clunge.
Whilst lying in my sleeping bag freezing my tatties off ,trying to stem the overwhelming need to chuck me guts up I stretched my calves and got cramp in them both :smt088 there was definitely tears involved and a fair bit of silent screaming, and I definitely bit a large lump out of my pillow.
And just as the pain was slightly subsiding the inevitable happened :smt078
oooh the pain :smt010 and the shame :smt005 :smt005

You forgot when flossie sneezed and nipped up tight

Or did you enjoy that pain

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

My mate passed out on a bike rally all curled up on his side. When he woke he stretched out and started screaming. Seems someone had tied his bootlace round his knob.

Pain.. try to avoid at all costs.
Physical pain, usually switch off and convince myself its not happening,
apart from tooth ache and sinusitus.
Emotional pain, biggest wimp in the world

Now that has really lowered the tone. :smt003

And I can't work out why that would be painful, unless it was tied very tight. :smt002

You think all that is bad? You've all clearly never stepped on a plug during the night or stubbed your little toe on a door frame!

When i wrote off my speed triple i bruised both shins so much it was like i had two sets of calves on each leg! On reading all these posts i'd have to say i've got of pretty lightly over the years especially compared to flatlanders list, anything not been bust/fused/FRIED!!!?

Because I am a shit magnet :)

I had been blanching chips all day whilst working as a cook in the Air Force slipped and without thinking reached out to stop myself and put my hand in the fat fryer cooking all the skin funny thing was I didn't scream much at the time ...

And that list doesn't include dislocated heel fractured ankle torn tendons ligaments, knee injuries ... Arthritis, fractured hip and some others but I am reminded that it is nothing ... Apparently compared to the pain of childbirth ;)

Well, with your record, I expect it won't be long 'till you experience that too ..... maybe they will conjure up some clever role reversal for when "bunp" makes their appearance ..........
