Actually

Just the side stand - the shock was cheap and has aged badly.... Well it's crap but bearable

And as for the rest being just fettling...

BLASPHEMER!!!!

Andy - get the matches, it's burning time....

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Nope, sorry, completely agree with Fatboy.

Though in addition:
  • Of course many of the newbies on here will not recall the worst thing of all with the Falco that those of us that had them new will remember ...........

    Worse than the sidestand

    Worse than the shock

Yes, those AWFUL original-fit metzler Mez3 tyres. The bike could not be made to handle well - especially turn-in - grip was never confidence inspiring either.
The only good thing about them was that they wore out pretty quickly allowing you to get something better on there.
Those that haven't experienced them on the Falco can have simply no idea how shockingly bad they were.

..... actually, maybe that's another reason the Falco was not a great seller .... one test ride would probably have been enough to dismiss it.

Have to agree with everyone about the falco being such a fab bike, i was lucky and got a last of the bunch 05 bronze one from new paid less the 5K, sold it when it was 3 yrs old and regretted it within a few months, after a few yrs on a boring fazer and a souless SV1000 ive now gone back to another bronze falco with deep sounding scorpion end cans.....love it, and wont sell again unless im unable to ride because of creaking bones !!!

Long live the SL1000 !!
