I seem to remember you said yours is a 2001 Falco. That will have Showa forks

As I've said so many times when people have said you can tell them by the colour - YOU CAN'T

There are both black and gold showas and there are both black and gold Marzocchis.

There are a few features but the easiest is the pre-load adjusters on the tops of the forks. Showa ones screw in and out Marzocchi ones just go round and round (adjusting inside the tubes).

I've posted pics up on here in the past - do a search and you'll probably find them

If its of any help, I've personally rebuilt a similar Ducati Showa fork in the past and wrote up a post on it here:

Was going to attempt this today, do I measure the oil that comes out or measure what I put in or the oil level?

Thanks

I measured what I put in but was careful to ensure I had got all of the old out.

Plans are ruined today,,,,,halfords don't have any castrol 5w oil. They only have halfords branded 5/30 oil.

opie oils do it

We have a discount from them

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Fork oil is always single weight; i.e SAE 5, SAE 10 etc. Multigrade oils (i.e 5/30) are for engines. Don't use engine oils for forks - use specific fork oil. As Pete says, Opie oils have a big selection and we get a forum discount with them. If it was me, I'd use this stuff:

or if cost is a concern, this stuff:
