....

i don't know, you bloody yorkshire men are so tight..... have you considered a shamble across the red sea?

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Hi Jay - I bought a Tiger 1050 in September. 09 Plate with 7000 miles private buy at £5300. Fully loaded, heated grips, hand gaurds, race pipe, MRA screen and some other goodies.

Only done about 500 miles. But need to get some more under our belt in readiness for the France trip in July - with Jules.

So..... I really like it, very responsive through the gears, very very comfortable, makes a great noise, but certainly does not stir the spirit like the howling Falco.

When the weather breaks we'll hook up and you can have a ride on it.

Whereabouts in France are you headed for? We did a trip in July a couple of years back and it was HOT. Mind you - that sounds like heaven when you're stuck in freezing cold, snowy Blighty in March...

Mango - 12 days of bimbling through the Loire Valley - Rouen then Chartres, Bourges, Tours (taking in two stages of the Tour de France) then LeMans and up to Mont St Michelle, Deauville and La Toquet.

Also going to stop at Arras on day 1 to say hello to George (my grandmother's brother) who died at the battle of Arras in 19 16 - only 19 years old. It's an amazing cemetry - as well as the graves of the soldiers they recovered, there are the names of 35000 men on the memorial !!! Taskes your breath away.

Jay - catch up when the sun comes out mate.

I think that doing the Tour de France on a motorcycle may be classed as cheating - though given Lance Armstrong's history, a bit of extra help will probably not be held against you

Sounds luverley... :smt003 As you're not heading to the deep south, temps will probably be a bit easier to manage. I know it sounds weird worrying about high temperatures when we're freezing our bo**ocks off in a snowy English spring, but...

France is a great destination for bike-riding - fantastic roads, scenery and (normally) weather. And then you stop, and there's all that food and wine to explore... :smt003
