Great news for the Ridersite Laundry - though it does sound as though you are expecting shrinkage of oversized items. Tim may be very interested in this service.

In the end I fitted 2 washers on each bolt, 4mm, to ensure the end of the bolt didn't stick out of the nut, as it was when using the old sprocket. Everything was working very well on my way to work this morning, nice to notice the extra va-va-voom going down to 15T on the front

I've still to have a blast on mine since the sprocket changes. Done the same as yourself in regards to the washers.

I had mine geared on a 15t last year but changed it back for a long road trip (some motorway runs in there).

I have to say, around town and especially low speed roundabouts it is soooo much better with 15t.

I have just this week changed it back to the 15t again but haven't been out as I'm doing the brakes. Hopefully be out on the bank holiday though.

I went down to 15t front and up to 42r last year and found that using 1st was pretty much useless and having to change up pretty quickly.
I then went back to 16t front and kept to 42r and found this more manageable.
Still I guess it's the users own preference.

1st gear is always useless on all bikes I've had, only use it to make a start then switch to 2nd pretty quick.
