Its a damn sight better than Frontpage lol.

I use Adobe stuff, Dreamweaver 5, Fireworks 5, After Effects 5. I got legit copies after my brother in law sold his business, he was told he could have the copies he had free :smt003

Plus I still have Photoshop 7 from years ago

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I use the Serif stuff. Page plus is their DTP app.

The things I use most are Photo plus and Movie plus.

Adobe stuff is far to expensive - even at student prices (I know - I had to buy it for one of my sons)

the serif stuff was pretty good when i last used it - but that was a while ago

Never used Quark and I see its a similar price to adobe's offerings. Tried Serif in the early day just never got on with it. When Macromedia was going I got my 1st edition of Dreamweaver (no 4 as it was then) before getting a cheap upgrade to MX4.
I'd like to have the full suite of the adobe but as a play thing at about 3k its a never will have lol.

Thanks for you replies, which I've been reading with interest.

However, it's rather academic now - didn't even get an interview. I'd thought, perhaps naively, with my background in heritage management, and the experience of having run my own business, I'd have been worth a second look. Obviously not; back to the scrapheap.

As regards the Office/Excel thing, I'll have another look round for some training courses, & see if I can get that nice IDS chappie to pay for it.

Sorry to here that, I have a book here, don't know if its of use to you 2007 Microsoft Office System Step By Step?

I know most offices round here are still using Office 2007, so it might be relevant :smt017
