Just read the download manual, ever since i owned the bike EFI has appeared when the ignition is turned on,then it dissapears, replaced by COLD.
I thought the EFI icon was the ECU 'booting ' up, checking the injection system but it means the ECU has detected an anomaly with the fuel system..
did the previous owner know this and decide to punt it on ??
More expense, more delay.....................more beer please

Ahem ..... RTFM (again!) ..... section 2.3 tells you what happens when you turn on the ignition .............
2.3 MULTIFUNCTION COMPUTER
KEY
A) Left multifunction digital display (speedometer odometer).
B) Multifun.ction computer programming push buttons.
C) Right multifunction digital display (coolant temperature
- clock - battery voltage - chronometer - diagnostic).
When the ignition key (1) is rotated to position "O",·the following
warning lights come on on the dashboard:
- red line warning light LED "max' (2);
- red engine oil pressure warning light LED "~" (3),
which remains on until the engine starts.
The pointer (4) of the revolution counter shifts to the maximum
value (rpm) set by the user.
After about three seconds the red line warning light LED
"max' (2) goes off; the pointer (4) of the revolution counter
returns to its initial position.
The writing" EFI" (5) appears on the right side of the multifunction
display for three seconds.
In this way the component operation is tested.

Point taken, I panicked when I read 'If EFI is displayed bla' in the download manual at the beginning of the fuel section, the user handbook (which I dont have) gives more info.
So, put it all back together today, fuel to the feed line, nothing out of the return line ( when its playing, with the Q/D undone fuel pisses out of the return with ign on )
Im thinkin blocked injectors, took out No2 injector, some shit in the well it sits in.
My mate suggested soaking the injectors in cleaner but would this work as the injector would be 'closed' ?
Im guessin both injectors would be identical so dont need to keep 1 and 2 seperate ?
