Alternatives I have thought about, fit a quick shifter so I do not have to flex the shin, Aprilia Mana

just doesn't quite cut the mustard with modding, or aesthetics, or give up totally, which isn't good at all
The usual response from our lot is take some ibuprofen and have a tubigrip.
Classic British bike with right side gear change? Ironically I had to give mine up because it was the right leg I bugg*ered.
Or I saw a really interesting big scooter type thingy in the dealers a few weeks ago. The Honda Integra. Dont dismiss it out of hand - it looked like a very good machine and fully automatic too.

I don't think that Honda is a patch on the Yamaha T-Max for lookis though.

..... but it's a Mana motor in a scooter chassis without any of the good and interesting bits the Mana has got .... and he's already said he doesn't fancy a Mana.
I'm thinking the quickshifter
(just as well my spell check picked up the missing "F")idea sounds the best plan so far - particularly if rigged up to a thumb change switch

Andy is right, I have had the opportunity to try a quickshifter on a couple of bikes before, and they do work surprisingly well. My problem is shifting up, so any assistance would help. Compounded by the V Twin vibration which doesn't help.
If I had opted for a quickshi##er as you were going to refer to I would have gone for a Desmo

Have you looked at crosser boots? I dont know your height etc but theyre a rigid boot around the ankle and shin so could maybe aid with the upshift more if the pegs and shift was set right? your shin would be doing less work or be more strapped up so move less?
Thinking back to DR-ing (mainly roadriding) in crosser boots against road riding in normal boots, my shins were always in less clipstate when i'd gotten off the bike than when i'd been wearing roadboots?
Have you spoken to

Kwackerz, I've been using Sidi Saber's since I passed my test bud, and they were way more comfortable than the Vertigo's that I had. The support is unbelievable. You are very much correct on how much they take the effort out of shifting.
I modded my footpegs and had some extra long ones made to shift my footing, and went with the Mille shift to get some improvement, but it is at the point now that they are not benefiting.
This isn't going to stop me riding, I won't let it, I just have to make a change of bike to something that will give me more time on 2 wheels.
Bikergran pointed me in that direction with the Klikshifter

Actually BG's manual shift lever would make a more than interesting adaptation to your bike
Look for some pics of her trike

I think a horizontal mounting runnning under the shift lever would be achievable, taking into account the sidestand and lower engine mount. Good points for fabricating solid mountings for the chamber.

That was exactly my problem with the classic British bike and the right side gear change. Someone suggested a conversion to left side change and apparently they are reasonably available. If they can change right to left then they can change left to right.
Try the bikers with disability outfit. There are enough of us limping around for someone to have found an answer to your problem.

I think that would be possibe. It is a shame that the clutch basket covers the shift star on the right hand side, otherwise it would be quite easy to adapt.
