They supply a sticker with the new certificate, have done for a few years now. Never attached mine to the bike, but it's possible to attach it on the bike (Inside of the screen?) maybe put a bit of fablon over it, etc to waterproof it.

I've been stopped twice while having no MOT. First time it had expired by 2 days, this last time by 1 day. Was before they became computerised so they cant of known it was out. Wish I could get odds in ladbrokes. Never pulled for ages then get stopped when mot expires ffs.
On the upside if they hadnt stopped me and made me go produce my docs, then it would have been months before I remembered.
Cautioned the 1st time, nothing happened about the 2nd, although I got threats both times for having my driving licence registered to my old address.

Is this just for bikes? (mine's a year to go before it's first MOT) - certainly never had a sticker when I got my wife's car MOT'd.

All vehicles. It forms part of the certificate.

I ain't puttin no MOT sticker on my bike!!
Make the gits check! Same with the tax disc.
Take a photo of the tax disc on your bike and claim it was nicked/broken off if you get pulled.
Same old same old innit? If you're mostly a law abiding citizen with no criminal record you are punished harder for minor (driving) indiscretions than you would be say if you were a soap dodging benefits leech with a string of offences to your credit.

Ah OK! I guess I was just happy to see that it had passed and didn't bother to examine the certificate ..... I'll have to go and dig it out later.
Cheers!

The fact you are taxed and insured will probably be enough to save you it's just a revenue exercises when it comes down to it and as long as you get the test certificate asap you should be fine.
I took one of my bike's down for a MOT today £27.50 robbery

I had thought mine had expired as the certificate print was so light I could hardly read it but it was the eighteenth rather than the sixteenth as I had feared.

It's mainly so YOU know when it needs redoing, THEY dont care, they'd run a check regardless, then send you the bill (and an invite to coffee and biscuits with the local judge)

Road tax, insewerance and MOT all in the same month.
How could I forget
Answer.
Dead easy.
But insurance usually sends a reminder as do the road tax bandits.
