:smt002 Oximiser.. probably the best thing Oxford have made as everything else seems lacklustre!

The RSV is now referred to as "Ariete" after the Italian Main Battle Tank of the same name

You have a reverse gear on your bike? Do tell.

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

It didnt go in reverse however it decidedly didnt decide to go forwards either today. Ariete seemed quite fitting in that it could refer to the tank's inability to advance (with it being from the Italian Army) or when it is going it can refer to it's sound and powerful engine and country of manufacture...

for now it is in disgrace and the former meaning has been applied..

could be worse, you could have called it chieftain, and then you would be changing your gearbox.

One thing besides charging the battery, that I did was start it back up. Now last time I fired it up was when i fitted the eprom chip, no real changes.. ran it for a few minutes to confirm the chip worked.
This time however it ran.. but I had to adjust the tickover quite a lot on the knob on the right handside.. that normal? I know it's a game changer when you swap the chip but couldnt remember ever having to play with the idle like that before? oh and i'd forgotten how devilishly addictive the induction roar is from the airkit.. :smt003

Ok, which clever bastard decided to make the fan switch a 29mm socket? The one size I don't bastarding have and neither does anywhere else. I've had to order one online. Of course I didn't discover this until I went to change the switch, which means I have the bike sitting, drained of coolant and silently mocking me.

Does tool multi purpose not fit then?

I have so far managed the clutch slave, and rear brake. Did the clutch pot, only to find that the brembo upright looks naff, and I can't do the front brake reservoir because idiot here forgot to order the extortionately expensive rizoma bracket. Looks like that will have to wait till next weekend, D'oh :smt016

I did a quick plug change and TB balance then thrashed the nuts of the beast 2 up for 1200km's on a mix of boring straight bits, scary straight bits (the bit's in that only have one lane surfaced and you need to take to the dirt when a road train is coming th other way), some dirt roads, lots of awesome twisty bits (Pikfee bellypan well and truly scraped shitless) and an extremely awesome fast set of sweepers, about 30 minutes of 150km/h at stupid lean angles. GF was feeling a bit ill at the end of that and needed a lie down.

Pity about the winter weather here though, mid to high 20's and sunny.

I think I forgot to mention spending the evening alternating from the bar to laying in the hot springs drinking bourbon.

I'm deffo not coming back to London :smt016
