OK - as promised here is where I mounted the oil bottle.

Basically it's simply stuck to the front of the mudflap that acts as a hugger. It seems to work well here but only put it there today so time will tell. Nice short and direct tube run to the rear sprocket.

I initially had the same heat issues as Sebastian with pressure building up inside the bottle when it got warm forcing oil out when you don't need it. This is easily solved by making a small pinhole in the delivery tube as per the Loobman instuction sheet.

I positioned the bottle closer to the chain side to get it further away from the exhaust and used the self adhesive pads to mount it to the flap. Actually applied duck tape first so it can be removed easily if necessary.

I'll let you know how it goes after the weekends ride up north.

Is it just me or would anyone else have a worry about 'sticking' a bottle of oil right infront of the rear wheel.

If, due to vibration or heat, the self adhesive pads cam unstuck the bottle could end up being squashed but the rear wheel and depositing it's contents over the rear tyre.

I am a bit of a cautious bugger though.

Interesting thought gazuk... I'm not worried about it though. The bottle is secure as is but if it works in this position I intend to make it more permanent by drilling a small hole or two in the mudflap and zip tying it in place.

I'd be far more concerned by over oiling by any method that tends to coat the left edge of the tyre with oil.

|Don't just 'stick it' then, use cable ties as well.

I saw somewhere where somebody had fixed velcro to either surface and then cable tied it.
