Tried for ages to get some proper info on Dr Rossi but it's never forthcoming. Still not established whether it just remaps fuel or alters ignition timing too.

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

..... so ...... pray tell ..... does it alter the ignition timing map?
Is it as good as it's cracked up to be in some quarters?

I'll have to have a nose round the lab at work to see if we've still got an appropriate reader.

That said, I've no idea of the address map of the eprom so we'll get a load of numbers but may have little understanding of what they all mean .........

when you say over fuel, just running rich? what are the negatives of this, apart from the obvious?

and where can I get hold of the gabro chip? assuming he'll ship to nz!

Yes running rich.
Uses more fuel, carbon deposits, may not perform as well as it could.

Gabro is a member of the AF1 forum and he can be contacted by PM on there. I dare say an email address exists but I don't have it.
Pretty sure he'll ship almost anywhere.

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Another negative of 'running rich' is the possibility petrol breaking down the oil film on the piston, rings and cylinder liner.
To cause that kind of wear, you would have to be a bit thick not to notice it aint running right

I've emailed Gabro... looking forward to seeing what he can do... and then comparing it with standard and factory pro :)

Right did some asking and Dr Rossi will apparently write custom maps also. As on he will write for advance for larger throttle bodies etc.
Whilst on the subject any precautions when changing chips or just open her up and swap her out ?
