OK will give it a go first but don't hold much luck as it's just the screws that hold on the fairing so limited to what i can add. ...........Thinking if yours fitted fine after you cut the hole then maybe oil tank was sitting closer in at the bottom ... :smt017 And just for asking would it matter too much if the tank is touching ? Would it get too hot or would it just be a case of rubbing against the side ?

It does not get that hot but may be a little bit of adhesive heat shield? Prevent chafe...

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Just taken it out for a good blast on the lands end road ( police nicely sat on a set of my favourite bends .....bastards ) and she's flying , checked the fairing afterwards and no sign of heat doing any damage or more importantly no leaks either so more then happy enough with the whole thing ......NOW where's my exhaust !!!

roflmao

if in doubt, a small piece of heat resistant shield will just give you that peace of mind...

Mine touches. It's one of the reasons that I plan to fit a Mille bellypan .... but have just not got round to finishing that one off.
The other reason I want to fit the Mille BP is that I will then be able to re-fit the oil tank's anti-vibration mounts .... I've never been that happy about removing them.

Mind you I've had this set up for quite a while now (measured in years) and it's not given any problem so far.

Have got some heat resistant tape coming to cover where it touches so that will sort that out but nice to know it's not just me who's having the same problem so thanks DR for that , must be honest and say i was starting to think i'd cocked it up as i'm not the best when it comes to this sort of stuff as the skin missing from my finger tips will show you !!!

NOW THEN...........What's all this about fitting a Mille Bellypan , are they a straight fit on the fixing points or is there some sort of tweaking to do AND does that mean that it gives you more room to fit things underneath ..........TURBO ANYONE ??? :smt005

Any how here's another question and an easy one for you gods , would i be able to replace my rear footpegs with a Mille exhaust hanger or are the fixing points different ........ :smt017

Oh PLEASE do some searching for info .... that's why the forums have search functions ......

Have a look at Paddy's respray video - he did the mod before he sprayed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUATBh700U4

On AF1 Tombaa posted up instructions - the most complicated bit is making the modified sidepanels (hybrid of Falco and Mille).
http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/show ... p?t=161242
The main instructions start at post no 45 but best to review the whole thread

I've had mine 3/4 done for over a year now ... but not finished them ....
Mine will look a bit different as I've wielded my dremmel slightly differently.

Excuse the curt jet-lag fuelled reply (but please, do have a go with the search function)

rear set RH.

#128 Post by GregD-UK » Sat May 28, 2011 12:26 pm

Hi all,

Yes cornish, I was looking at that as well, going with the mille single-sided exhaust conversion. Having decided on some stubby shotgun cans, want a hanger welded onto the exhaust to support the shotgun setup. The rsv4 has such a rear set connection. Unless, a bespoke one can be made, I contacted calsport who sell all the spare parts for my gilles rear sets. No joy on a sutiable straight bolt on replacement :smt010

I have 10mm spacers to push out my rear sets for my wide feet :smt003 Was thinking of getting something fabricated to be 10mm thick and behind the rear sets to accomodate the exhaust hanger bracket behind the foot-peg...

Anyone know if or where someone can make one ?

Cheers.
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

DR as always i knew you'd have the answer but will start checking the search for ya .........just so as not to get on your wrong side :smt005

Have seen the Paddy thread before and have to say the finish result is an awesome bike but have to say way way to much work for little old me !! Looks like the belly pan is as far as i go .......Cheers for the heads up Greg as well at least i now know what's needed , i have a good mate who could probably Fab something up for me but not until i have the can or cans to fit on after the exhaust mod. Those stubby shotguns sound nice where'd you get them from ? Would be interested in seeing a photo when fitted as i can't make my mind up as to one can or a shotgun design ?

BO##OCKS BO##OCKS BO##OCKS ..........Just been for a great blast on the bike and got back to tuck her up for the night and noticed oil in the belly pan so it looks like it's another strip down for me tomorrow to see what's what. Can't tell but i think the front pipe is dry from what i can feel under the BP without taking it off and it's not from the top so i have a very very bad feeling , and by god i hope i'm wrong , but i think the tank it self maybe leaking.. :smt013

Just what i needed two days before i go back to work again....... now where did i put that superglue !!! :smt003
