Wheel balancing with new discs

#1 Post by dyzio » Sun Mar 13, 2011 10:02 pm

Hi,
I've fitted new discs to the Falco, just wondering - does the front wheel need balancing again?

Cheers

No, I wouldn't bother. The weight of the discs are a small fraction of the overall wheel weight, and I would think that due to the uniform construction they're pretty balanced anyway.

I think that discs must be inherently balanced to do their job - if they have more mass in some parts than others they will be out of round or varying in thickness .... and neither of those things would be a good thing for a disc.
