Respect

#1 Post by Myrkk » Thu Feb 21, 2008 9:27 am

When you look at old people you [hopefully] have respect for them and I always remember old people being [relatively] dignified and being civil to each other [in public anyhow].

When I look at the other people my age and imagine the time we'll all be auld farts together I really wonder how youngsters will view us. People seem much less dignified.

I'm just waiting patiently to see what all these body and face tatoos look like when the wrinkles start.

Anyone remember them comics where you folded a picture and it made another one? ffs dead braincells

I think older people will always respect each other, getting to a certain age is like entering a fraternity isn't it?

When i was a kid (ok so not as long ago as some of you :smt002 ), younger people would step aside when someone older was trying to enter the same doorway, or they would offer their seat etc etc. I dont see this anymore....? Maybe its just me

You're not wrong Syltiz - on some forums my current sig is
Old age ain't no place for cissies!
The tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young.

Respect is earned imo and, unfortunately, some people, (young and old alike), never seem to grasp that fact. A lot of 'old' peeps seem to assume that age means respect is due while a lot of young-uns appear to think that the older generations are simply 'in the way'! :smt011
Mind, parental education of their little 'darlings' is now severely lacking...
Two is the magic number... ;)
