What forks?

I've the Brembo racing item but I'm pretty sure Mangocrazy has the ones off the later RSV1000zoidberg wrote: Which radial master cylinder do you have?

Indeed he does. But if you want to fit Radial master cylinders to a Falco be prepared for hassle. They take up more space fore and aft than the OE versions and need more clearance than is available as standard. I had to completely re-work the handlebars to get mine to fit.D-Rider wrote:I've the Brembo racing item but I'm pretty sure Mangocrazy has the ones off the later RSV1000zoidberg wrote: Which radial master cylinder do you have?
How did you manage with yours, Andy?
Well it's a bit on the tight side Graham and limits rotating the controls further for better alignment with the forearm.mangocrazy wrote:Indeed he does. The adjuster screw just presses a bit on the front subframe at full lock (as when the steering lock is on) but it's only just enough to move the lever a few mm - not enough to actually do anything.
Of course my brake master is a bit different to yours. This is mine:
The clutch master is more fun and games with the mounting of the fast idle control - but do-able.
Yes it's not perfect but I wouldn't go back to the old master cylinders.

Yes, it was getting the controls at the correct angle to get the ergonomics right that was the big problem for me. I like the levers pointed down at an angle of about 20-30 degrees from horizontal to avoid getting cramp in the wrists and forearms.
The only way really is to post up pictures, as my solution involved 53mm clip-on clamps (as advertised on eBay), with specially fabricated bars. It took me about 18 months to get it sorted but, like you, I wouldn't go back to the OE setup.
As part of what I was doing, I also wanted to reduce the overall bar end to bar end width and raise the bars a small amount. I'm now very, very happy with it, but it took a fair old while to get there.

Re: What forks?
@Mangocrazy
This is a helpful thread that I'll add to with some extras, firstly: Fork Data:
2001 Showa std Falco / 2002 - RSV Ohlins / 2005 RSV Showa Radial
Top yoke - 53mm / 51mm / 51mm
Bottom - 53 mm / 56mm / 53mm

I had my 2002 RSV-R forks rebuilt by a good guy in Leeds for my weight, I'm sure he said internals were slightly different from std forks.

Piccies:
I only did the radial brake on mine - I kinda like it.
Top yoke after vapour blasting
Rear guard mount: you can see the slight difference: I just used an oblong of plastic I had laying around

Re: What forks?
Managed to acquire a set of Gen 2 Showa forks and matching radial calipers for £450. This will be an 'over winter' project and will tie in with the bar raising project. The only thing I notice is that the calipers are noticeably heavier than the non-radial types. This will slow the steering down a tad.
