RSV Swinger recall

I know this has been covered before (and in depth on AF1 before the site crash) but I can't find a definitive answer on RS or ARS. As I understand it the recall on RSV swingers was on the '04 model onwards due to a bolt hole ovaling. However, I'm sure I read somewhere that there was a recall on the 00-03 arms because of potential cracking? Am I imaging things or have there been recalls on both types of arms and for what?

Hmmm .... Certainly aware of the recall on the new shaped arm - cracks from a bolt hole (Pierre posted a picture I recall). Can't remember exactly which year this affected (but with Aprilia parts, identifying year of manufacture compared to reported year of sale can be more difficult).

I'm certainly not aware of any problem on the early shaped ones though - but if anyone knows different I'm always willing to learn (I hope not - I've one waiting to fit).

That's the angle I'm coming from. I also stumbled across an old ad in MCN Bike Mart for an 03' Mille which said 'recall on swingarm carried out'.

OK - done a search on the VOSA website and I think we're safe.

As far as official recalls on the RSV are concerned there have been 3 (Drive Chain, Engine Valve Springs and the swinger issue on the new shaped bike) - see the following 2 links:
http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recall ... search.asp

Of course there may also be some Dealer Service Actions that are not shown - but they will not be for things of such a serious nature.

Good to see the Falco not even listed for any recalls ..... phew !

They got it right first time!!...........Apart from the shock of course, couldn't really issue a recall because "the rear shock is crap", wouldn't have looked good that.

Pointless - for a recall you've got to be able to take the bike back to the dealer !

:smt003

Sidestand should also have been a candidate on the "not fit for purpose" list !
