Replacing sensors with resistors?

In the process of stripping my Falco racer, I'm considering removing some of the sensors and replacing them with the manual specified resistances.
This has come about because the bike has always run with the EFI light flashing once it's been on for more than a few seconds. According to the diagnostics it was the missing Fall Sensor (the bike didn't come with one). It ran fine but the efi was flashing. So I inserted the Fall Sensor from my other bike - hey presto, the fault code 41 and the efi flash went away.
Now, my question is... if the bike runs fine without the sensor (which it seems to), then is there any reason I can't put 62kOhms of resistance where the sensor would have gone, just so it can run without the efi flashing? Obviously, I'd like the efi flash to be available for any other faults if they crop up - which I wouldn't know about if it was constantly on.
Thoughts?
